MELBOURNE, VIC — Wheelchair Basketball Australia (WBA) presented by BrightSky Australia is proud to announce the appointment of William Buck as the National Partner for Professional Excellence and Integrated Growth. This strategic alliance marks a significant milestone in the evolution of the national leagues.

As WBA continues its trajectory toward high-performance sports, William Buck joins the “New Era” as the exclusive partner within the Accounting and Advisory Services category. The partnership is designed to go beyond traditional sponsorship, focusing on the structural professionalisation of the sport and sustainable growth across the national landscape.

John Palmer, Executive General Manager of WBA, emphasised that the firm’s reputation for community impact was a key driver for the partnership.

“Welcoming William Buck as our National Partner for Professional Excellence is a definitive step in our mission to elevate wheelchair basketball to the ‘Formula 1’ of Paralympic sport,” said Palmer. “Beyond their technical expertise, we were deeply impressed by William Buck’s long-standing track record of giving back to the community. Their commitment to creating a positive social impact aligns perfectly with our values, providing the professional backbone and heart required as we scale our operations. This partnership isn’t just about a logo on a court; it’s about embedding a culture of excellence and strategic rigour into everything we do at WBA.”

Adam Kirkwood-Scott, Managing Partner at William Buck Victoria, said the partnership was a meaningful opportunity to support an organisation making a tangible impact across Australia.

“Our commitment to society extends beyond numbers. It’s about creating meaningful change and supporting organisations that inspire excellence, innovation, and inclusion,” Adam said. “We are proud to partner with Wheelchair Basketball Australia as they continue to grow and strengthen the sport nationally. This partnership reflects our shared values and our commitment to supporting initiatives that make a lasting difference in the community.”

The partnership officially commences immediately, with William Buck’s presence to be integrated across WBA’s national platforms, the Kevin Coombs Indigenous Round and the National Finals Series.
