JANE SACHS

DIRECTOR

Jane Sachs (née Webb) is a former Australian wheelchair basketball player and respected sport leader, recognised for her long-standing contribution to the national women’s team, the Gliders, and her ongoing service to wheelchair basketball in Australia.

Jane represented Australia at three consecutive Paralympic Games – Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 – and played a key role in the Gliders’ silver medal performances at both the Sydney and Athens Games. During this period, she was also part of multiple World Championship and international tournament campaigns, helping establish Australia as a consistent force in women’s wheelchair basketball on the global stage.
 
Following her elite sporting career, Jane built a successful professional career in human resources, holding senior leadership roles over two decades with Westpac, including executive positions focused on transformation, risk and organisational performance. Her corporate experience has provided strong foundations in governance, strategy and leadership.
 
Jane now serves as a Board Member of Wheelchair Basketball Australia, where she brings a unique perspective as both a former elite athlete and senior executive. She remains deeply committed to strengthening the sport’s systems, supporting inclusive participation pathways, and ensuring future generations of athletes are empowered to succeed.
